A. Overview:

The Technicians Training Program Instructor is expected to mentor aspiring race car mechanics and motorsport professionals in the making. Our highly-regarded race mechanic school specializes in the preparation of entry-level mechanics for race teams—and many of the 2,700+ students who have come through our doors are now employed at all levels of IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA, SCCA, and vintage racing teams, and by chassis and engine suppliers.

Full Time Exempt

D. Essential Job Functions:

  1. Training/Instructing
    1. Schedule, train, evaluate all students
    2. Assist with formal admission, testing procedures, interviewing process and retention
    3. Career counseling and job placement assistance
    4. Lecturing, testing, evaluating and communicating performance and progression with students
    5. Supervising and holding students accountable while promoting learning, participation, motivation and professionalism
    6. Organizing and delivering class objectives in a clear and concise manner; maintaining an orderly, controlled and safe work environment for students; ensuring training aids; tools and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom
    7. Develop and establish structure and process standards for TTP
    8. Work with Team Manager as it relates to training and scheduling with mechanics and facilitate effective communication with the team
    9. Assist in the maintenance of TTP files; ensuring precise records so files can be easily found by other company members if necessary
    10. Assist in maintaining inventory control of parts, materials and tools needed for TTP curriculum
    11. Assist in the redesign/update course offerings; maintaining accuracy and keeping up-to-date on the industry and company vehicles
    12. Implement rules and safety programs

  1. Maintain a valid driver license with clean driving record

  3. Performs other duties as assigned/required

F.Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  1. Current developments and trends in the motorsport/automobile industry
  2. Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment used for instructions
  3. Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources

Skills:

  1. Relative experience in motorsports
  2. Strong written verbal, written and oral communication
  3. Presentation Skills
