Formula 3 Racing School, Stage 2 – Two Days

November 14, 2014 @ 7:30 am - November 15, 2014 @ 4:00 pm

THE LOLA SRW F3,

THE WORLDS FINEST RACING SCHOOL CAR

After a brief look back at the techniques learned in the first stage, Stage 2 opens with a deeper exploration of the art of driving a fully-fledged aerodynamic single-seater, with particular emphasis on corner entry, exit speed maximization, and the benefits of balancing aero downforce characteristics appropriately. Open-lapping sessions will then allow drivers to translate what they’ve learned into faster times on the track, with high-tech data analysis techniques highlighting errors and improving performances even further. The arts of passing and race craft will also be practiced during Stage 2, ensuring that by the end of the second day, participants are sufficiently qualified to apply for an SCCA Racing Licence.

FAQS

1.    Do I need my driver’s license to race a SRW-F3?

No, a license is not required.  In fact, our racing school is open to drivers 14 years and older.  Please check with a racing consultant if you want to race, but don’t meet the normal age requirement.

2.     Is the School of Racing only for racers who want to make a career out of racing?

No, the School of Racing is a great course for anyone from the novice to the seasoned veteran.  The skills taught in any of our courses will help on the track as well as in every day driving.  These courses do not have any age maximum, as long as you have a clean bill of health.

3.     Can I bring my own equipment?

Yes, but your driving suit needs to be a minimum of 2-layer nomex, and your helmet must meet current Snell approval.  If you need racing shoes, they are provided to you at no charge, but please make arrangements with a racing consultant at time of registering.

4.    Can I bring spectators?

Yes, you can bring your fans to watch or take photos for you. If they want to be included for your breakfast and lunch, there will be a nominal fee required, and please let us know upon enrollment registration so the catering can be set-up in advance.

5.     How do I get my SCCA license?

You are eligible for an SCCA racing license upon successful completion of Stage 1 & 2 School of Racing courses. Once you have completed the courses, you can request an application from your racing consultant, and they will help you through the process.

6.    Can I mount my own camera to the car for my course?
